Liverpool Airport
Liverpool airport is about 7 miles south-east
of the city off the A561.
The building on the present site was opened in 1986. These facilities
were fine until 1995 when Direct Holidays began a summer charter
outfit. Since then, other charter companies began introducing
holiday flights, which led to more alterations to the building.
Passenger
figures for 2002 were estimated to be around 2.5 million.
